Paul Ford Presentation
July’s guest speaker, Paul Ford, NREMTP, the Mobile Integrated Heathcare Coordinator for the Las Cruces Fire Department sent us a copy of his presentation, Mobile Integrated Healthcare: Furthering the Mission.
As noted before, Paul specializes in working with at-risk populations who call 911 frequently due to unmet health and wellness needs and are affected by the unique conditions surrounding the elderly, mental health, homelessness, and substance abuse. The presentaion details how te mission of the Fire Department has changed to include the huge growth in these types of calls.
Labor day class cancellation
Our Parkinson’s Exercise Class, led by Medical Exercise Specialist, Carol Witham, is cancelled Monday September 2nd, due to Labor Day activities. Classes willl resume on Wednesday September 4 at 10 a.m. as usual.

PD Class cancellation
Our Parkinson’s Exercise Class, led by Medical Exercise Specialist, Carol Witham, is cancelled Monday August 12 and Wednesday August 14, so Carol can take a well-deserved vacation. Classes willl resume session on Monday August 19 at 10 a.m. as usual.
John Cullen on Zoom
Ken Posey, Coordinator of the Parkinson’s Westside Support Team, has invited us to join his group on August 7 at 3:00 pm via ZOOM. The link is below.

John Cullen and his business partner, Ivan, will hold an interview style meeting where John will be answering Parkinson’s related questions about his ongoing battle with Parkinson’s.
As you may recall, we have watched John’s documentary film “It’s Just Parkinson’s” and some of us have read his book “Unbreakable Surviving Adversity.”
John has invited us to send questions in advance so he can give the best answer. His email is ijporder@gmail.com.
For those who wish to attend the El Paso Parkinson’s Group meeting in person, the meeting location is the Queen of Peace Catholic Church 1551 Belveder El Paso, TX.

Pickleball in July
Pickleball Practice is CANCELLED on the 4th of July. We are trying to reserve 2 courts (7 & 8) at Apodaca park for 8am-10am for the 11th of July, and for the rest of July and August. Check back for updates.
Wednesday June 19 cancellation for Carol’s class
Our Parkinson’s Exercise Class, led by Medical Exercise Specialist, Carol Witham, is cancelled Wednesday June 19 due to the facility ‘s need for the space that day. We will have a regular class session on Monday June 24 at 10 a.m. as usual.
Pickelball Thursday Mar 30
We have the far back indoor court at Meerscheidt Recreation Center again this Thursday, May 30. We will have the court from 12:15-2:30 p.m.
During June, we will have pickleball instruction and practice at Apodaca Park from 8AM to 10 AM (Meerscheidt is unavailable due to kids’ summer programs). Bring a hat or sun visor, and water! Check back for updates!
