We have the far back indoor court at Meerscheidt Recreation Center again this Thursday, May 30. We will have the court from 12:15-2:30 p.m.
During June, we will have pickleball instruction and practice at Apodaca Park from 8AM to 10 AM (Meerscheidt is unavailable due to kids’ summer programs). Bring a hat or sun visor, and water! Check back for updates!
Our Parkinson’s Exercise Class, led by Medical Exercise Specialist, Carol Witham, is cancelled Monday, May 27 due to Memeorial day celebrations. We will have a regular class session on Wednesday May 29 at 10 a.m. as usual.
Rock Steady Boxing class will not meet Monday, May 27 due to Memeorial day celebrations. We will have a regular class session on Wednesday May 29 instead of an open session. See you at Maximum Martial Arts for class Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.!
The meeting was well-attended. Dr. Ospina, a movement disorders specialist, gave us a really interesting talk about Parkinson’s Disease, and how Rytary, an extended release carbidopa and levodopa medication, works to reduce off-periods.

The Arbors at Vista Living invited us for a picnic to celebrate Parkinson’s Awareness Month. The picnic was a great success; lots of good food and friendship.
We are celebrating Parkinson’s Awareness Month by going to a picnic. Instead of our regular meeting place at the Holiday Inn Express, we will meet at Arbors at Vista Living.

Meerscheidt will be closed this week and next due to Spring Break. High winds are forecast for Thursday March 7, so outdoor play is not feasible. We are cancelling pickelball practice this week. We will play outside next week – Thursday March 14, if the weather allows, probably at Sunny Acres RV Park. Check back for updates!
